Mazda CX-5 Blind Spot Monitoring Safety Technology

mazda-cx-5-blind-spot-monitoring

The Mazda CX-5 is one of the best family SUVs on the market, a mid-size crossover that’s fuel-efficient, stylish, and packed with advanced features. Part of what makes the Mazda CX-5—and Mazda vehicles in general—so sophisticated is its outstanding driver assist technology, especially the Blind Spot Monitoring feature.

Blind Spot Monitoring is a revolutionary technology that helps prevent accidents by alerting you when a vehicle is in your blind spot. It’s easy to miss it when another vehicle is in your blind spot, and if you start to change lanes without noticing, it can be seriously dangerous.

With Blind Spot Monitoring, a light on your side mirror will let you know if a vehicle is in your blind spot, and if you turn on your turn signal the icon in the mirror will flash and your Mazda CX-5 will beep at you. This lets you know immediately that it’s not safe to change lanes.

The Mazda CX-5’s Blind Spot Monitoring works using sensors with a range of 50 meters that sense when a vehicle is approaching you on either side. This isn’t foolproof during certain conditions, though, so always check your blind spot yourself before you ever change lanes.
