The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has named the 2016 Mazda CX-5 as a Top Safety Pick+, meaning it performed well in crash tests and earned a good rating when equipped with front collision mitigation technology. This designation isn’t awarded easily, and it proves both Mazda’s dedication to creating safe vehicles and the Mazda CX-5’s outstanding engineering.
Edmunds named the Mazda CX-5 as the Top Rated SUV in 2016. These awards are based solely on road tests, proving the imminent drivability of the crossover. Judges at the Daily News Auto Awards found the Mazda CX-5 to be the best model in its class in 2016. Lastly, in 2016, the Mazda CX-5 was the Winner of Editor’s Choice Award from Car and Driver. This award is based on the family-friendliness of a model.
Mazda was also voted US News & World Report’s Best Car Brand in 2017. For this award, US News & World Report takes the sum of each brand, looking at the overall quality of all the models with the same nameplate.
